Distracted Driver Charged with First-Degree Manslaughter after Striking Pedestrian

This summer a NYC public school teacher tragically died while biking cross-county, part of an initiative to raise money and awareness for affordable housing.

The 25 year old teacher and cyclist was biking along an Oklahoma road when a 35-year-old woman struck and killed him.

The driver was unable to maneuver around the cyclist because instead of looking at the road, she was looking at her phone.

The driver has been charged with first-degree manslaughter.

This sad story serves as a chilling reminder: put the phone down & commit to quit. Learn more about distracted driving and what you can do to spread the word in your community.
