Often times a bacterial infection can lead to collection of pus that builds up under the skin. This is known as an abscess and sometimes xit requires a routine surgery to remove the buildup of infected material. When our 54-year-old client went to the hospital to have her abscess removed, she expected to be home with her family in a few hours following the surgery. Unfortunately, she did not come out of the sedation for 4 days. The medical mistake by the hospital left our client severely disabled and rather than face a jury, the hospital agreed to settle the case for $6,500,000.
The case was handled by Managing Partner Andrew Finkelstein with outside counsel.
