A Pennsylvania company, Bell & Evans, has recalled 20,000 pounds of chicken nuggets. According to officials, the nuggets could potentially cause food poisoning. A sample tested positive for Staphylococcal bacteria.
Staphylococcal bacteria may cause Staphylococcal food poisoning, a gastrointestinal illness. The toxins in staphylococcal bacteria are typically fast acting. Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, and diarrhea. Symptoms typically develop anywhere from 30 minutes to 6 hours after consumption, and may last one to three days.
A statement from Bell & Evans:
“Bell & Evans is alerting our customers and assisting in the removal of the product from our distribution and retail channels. We are also working closely with both the USDA and Murry’s, Inc., to aggressively rectify this situation.
