A father is calling for change after his son was critically injured riding on the back of a motorcycle. The boy’s injuries required life saving surgery. The father of the boy never knew his son would be on a motorcycle that day.
The crash occurred in late May, in Athens, NY. According to New York State Police, the motorcycle hit an oncoming vehicle. The driver of the motorcycle, just 32-years old, did not survive the crash.
The father of the injured child is now calling for a state law which would prohibit young children from riding on the back of motorcycles. He argues riding a motorcycle requires a skillset that most kids don’t possess, such as knowing when to lean into a turn.
What do you think? Should children be allowed on the back of motorcycles?
