State troopers issued 110 tickets, 79 of which were for speeding, in a 3-hour operation period on Sunday on I-84 in East Fishkill. Police say 31 tickets were issued for other violations including using a cellphone while driving, failure to wear a seat belt and failure to “move-over” for stopped emergency vehicles on the shoulder. In an effort to reduce speed-related crashes, improve highway safety and protect those working alongside the roads, state police in Troop K regularly conduct these types of traffic enforcement operations. We continue to remind everyone to never use a cellphone or other electronic device while driving and to always wear a seat belt. Please follow all traffic laws enforced as they are for your safety and protection.
