For the past several summers, Personal Injury attorney Melody Gregory has sponsored a camper at the Town of Newburgh’s PBA (Police Benevolent Association) Junior Police Academy camp. This year Melody helped camp organizers set up the second annual Junior Police Academy Camp Olympics and spoke to the campers about the importance of giving back to the community and the value of participating in community service.
The camp provides youth with a valuable opportunity to get to know local officers, learn more about law enforcement, and partake in actives that promote physical fitness and wellbeing with a focus on respect and discipline. They also receive exposure to the workings of a police department and the services provided to the community as a whole for the safety and well-being of the public together with the court system. This summer the group had the chance to witness a mock trial with Judge Martini and the Orange County District Attorney’s office, who volunteered their services.
