VSG (F&P Veterans’ Services Group) successfully represented a Veteran in the appeal of a rating decision and he will now receive 75,000 in retroactive benefits! The Veteran served honorably in the U.S. Air Force from March of 1967 to September of 1970. He developed Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma as a result of the carcinogens he was exposed to while in service. His condition had continued to worsen, yet, in 2011, the VA reduced his compensation to 50% based upon a medical notation which indicated that his condition had improved. He retained our VSG for assistance with respect to appealing the decision. Last week, a decision was issued which reinstated the Veteran’s disability level to 100% retroactive to the 2011 date that it had been reduced. The Veteran will receive $75,000 in retroactive benefits and will receive disability compensation based upon a 100% rating going forward. Fantastic job by the VSG!
