An armed robbery has struck the the City of Poughkeepsie for the fifth time this week. An Academy Street deli was held up at gunpoint on Thursday night. According to police, a plan was wearing a ski mask armed with a semi-automatic handgun and entered the deli around 8:30pm. He demanded money from the cashier, who complied. The suspect left with several hundred dollars. Police describe the suspect as a 5’9″ white or light-skinned blakc male. He was wearing dark jeans, black sneakers with light-colored laces, and a black winter jacket with the hood up. No injuries were reported. In addition to this robbery, the Smokes 4 Less shop in the Town of Poughkeepsie was robbed by two men armed with pocket knives last Tuesday night.
